ICCR Scholarship programme
Embassy of India invites applications from eligible Eritrean candidates for educational scholarships in Indian universities. The scholarships are administered through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
ICCR has introduced an online application portal for Indian scholarships, on the website
http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/.
Before filling the application form, applicants are advised to look at the ICCR guidelines on
http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/assets/site/docs/applicant_guidelines_beforefilling.pdf and also the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/home/faqs.
Applicants are advised to do due diligence & research about the universities and courses, and ensure that they fulfill the specific admission criteria laid down by various Universities/Institutes listed in the scholarship scheme. The list of universities is available on the same link.
A few important points regarding the Indian scholarships are as below:
  a) ICCR will bear the cost of return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport in India (and  AC train fare from there to the city of study, if required), tuition fees, monthly allowance, hostel accommodation and medical benefits as per the guidelines under the scheme. In case of scholars pursing science courses, the expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will have to be borne by the scholars themselves.
